Our Mission

Lagom Clinic was founded in December 2021. We’ve gone from strength to strength since then and we’re excited about our opportunity to make a difference.

The goal of Lagom Clinic is single minded - to enhance the lymphatic wellbeing of our clients. We want to help those recovering from general and serious surgeries and reduce the impact of conditions such as Lipoedema and Lymphoedema.

We have many people in our community living with these conditions and/or recovering from surgery. Our aim is to provide them access to the latest techniques and technologies, so they can live more fulfilled and productive lives.

Cristina Lopes

FOUNDER, SENIOR THERAPIST

My goal is to raise awareness of the lymphatic system and its importance to our immune system. I closely follow the literature and incorporate the latest findings, wherever possible, into the services we offer.

I’ve gained experience across many disciplines including post-operative care, lymphoedema, lipoedema, physiotherapy and early intervention programmes for people at risk of developing lymphoedema after cancer. I’ve worked closely with professionals who specialise in nutrition and exercise.

I’ve had the opportunity to work in Brazil, Africa, Europe and New Zealand during my 20+ year career, including running my own clinic when I lived in Brazil. My qualifications include:

  • Lymphoedema Therapist (ALA - Australasian Lymphology Association)

  • Lymphoedema Therapist - Macquarie University Certified - upper & lower body, breast, genital, head & neck

  • Lipoedema Therapist - assessment, conservative care management , pre and post care for lipoedema liposuction.

  • Pre and Post surgery care

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) - Vodder Qualified Therapist

  • Massage NZ Registered Therapist (Level 6)

  • Pilates Instructor (Mat & Equipment)

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy

I have volunteered in countries with limited resources and little access to modern technology. It was incredibly rewarding work that required me to use all of my hands-on knowledge. In my free time, I love travelling, hiking, cooking with my daughter, and chasing sunsets wherever I am.
